DescriptionThe College Caduceus, c. 1556. A silver rod with a plain disc at the base and capped by a terminal decorated with four curved snakes and inset with the arms of the College. It is the President's symbol of office and is carried on formal occasions. Devised and presented to the College by Dr John Caius in 1556.
