Scope and ContentThis collection of items spans Parkes Weber's life and career development and includes publications, achievements, and personal matters. A significant portion of the collection consists of correspondence with his peers and colleagues, much of which seeks his advice, recognises his achievements, or thanks him for sending copies of his work. This series also contains a number of his publications, of which he had many, including medical reports, articles, the thirteenth edition of ‘Miscellaneous Notes’ published in 1961, and copies of a ‘festschrift’ or edited volume of Parkes Weber’s works published by the German Hospital in Dalston, London where he worked from 1894 until 1947. This collection also contains correspondence and documents relating to Parkes Weber’s personal life, family, health and death, including letters of condolence and his obituary in The Lancet. He was also a keen numismatist and coin collector and was recognised by the Royal Numismatic society who named a prize after him.
