Admin history: The Negotiating Committee was formed of representatives of the British Medical Association and the three Royal Colleges, to liase with the Government on the formation of the National Health Service. Various subcommittees of the Negotiating Committee were also active: Mental Health Services Subcommittee, Hospital and Specialist Services Subcommittee, Consultants and Specialists Group Subcommittee, Compensation Subcommittee, Ophthalmic Subcommittee, Consultant Services Subcommittee, General Practitioner Service Subcommittee.
